That’s part of the reason we have invested more than $30 billion globally in logistics, tools, services, programs, and people to foster the growth of our sellers. In Australia, we have launched over 100 new features, tools and services for Australian sellers since 2019.

We estimate that 95% of Australian businesses selling on amazon.com.au are small businesses.* You can view some of the small businesses currently selling on Amazon.com.au in our Small Business Store . Globally, more than 14,000 Australian businesses, many of which are SMBs, now sell in Amazon’s stores. They sold more than 27 million units around the world in the 12 months to 30 June 2022 (that’s 50 products every minute), increasing more than 15% on the year before.

*Note: We define an Australian small business as a business headquartered in Australia, with less than100 employees or less than AUD$10M aggregate revenue in the last 12 months.

Sale Events, including Prime Day

Amazon Australia is committed to supporting Australians and Australian businesses to shop local. One of our most anticipated Sale Events is Amazon Prime Day, with fantastic savings available to Amazon Prime Members. During Amazon Australia encourages customers to shop from local small businesses through the inclusion of Australian small businesses as part of its marketing activity around the event. In Australia, Prime Day 2023 marked the biggest Prime Day ever for Australian businesses selling on amazon.com.au.
