Frequently Asked Questions

What are the eligibility requirements for Strategic Account Services (SAS)?
You can apply for SAS if you have an active selling account in good standing for the Amazon Australia store. We review each application based on our criteria and Marketplace Consultant availability. We consider business maturity and revenue on the Amazon Australia store, among other factors. If your application is not initially approved, you might become eligible in the future as you progress on your Amazon journey.
Why should I pay for the SAS program?
The SAS program provides holistic account management. Through your Marketplace Consultant, you can:
1) develop long-term business growth strategies (not time-bound),
2) receive support in more than one program or feature,
3) proactively receive inputs if there are growth opportunities for your account (e.g., marketing, catalogue optimisation, pricing, brand tools, fulfilment),
4) access extensive analysis and reports,
5) troubleshoot operational issues through a dedicated expert.
If I am not a brand owner, can SAS help me?
Yes, the program is designed to help both brand owners and resellers doing business on the Amazon Australia store. Your Marketplace Consultant will help you identify and prioritise strategic initiatives according to your business needs.
I have more than one selling account. Can I work with a single Marketplace Consultant to help me on all my accounts?
Sellers must enrol each account separately in the SAS program. Depending on our Marketplace Consultants’ capacity, you may or may not work with a single Marketplace Consultant across your accounts. We will work with you closely to determine how to best manage your multiple accounts.
I am having problems with my Amazon account. Can I get support before I enrol in SAS?
You can use your access to Selling Partner Support regardless of your SAS enrolment status so please leverage this service where needed. Once enrolled in SAS, you will get access to a Marketplace Consultant to help facilitate your growth, as well as to a dedicated operations specialist for support.
If I enrol in SAS, can I expect to receive different or preferential treatment when it comes to Amazon’s policies?
No. Amazon’s policies are the same for all Sellers and applied equally, regardless of whether you are enrolled in the SAS program or not. All Sellers have access to Selling Partner Support (SPS) and are provided with the same support regardless of being enrolled in SAS.
What does my first month in SAS look like?
As soon as you enrol, you will receive a welcome pack with the most important information about the SAS program. Your Marketplace Consultant will set up a kick-off meeting with you. In this meeting, you will get to know each other, review the current performance of your Amazon account and set priority areas on which you will focus in the next months. After this, with your Marketplace Consultant’s support, you will dive deep into your selected focus areas using our analytical reports to derive strategic recommendations for your account with concrete action points. You and your Marketplace Consultant will continuously work together on the improvement of your performance on the Amazon Australia store and discuss progress in business reviews once per month. In between, your Marketplace Consultant will be available via phone or e-mail.
Are Marketplace Consultants Amazon employees?
Yes, all Marketplace Consultants are Amazon employees who receive in-depth training and have access to internal expert teams to best assist Sellers enrolled in SAS. Note that the advice provided by Marketplace Consultants does not constitute legal, financial, or tax advice.
What if I am dissatisfied with the level of service?
Your candid feedback is the key to our collective success. We strive to be the most customer-centred company in the world. As a Seller on the SAS program, you are our customer. Therefore, we have avenues to help ensure your feedback is heard. You can provide feedback through our quarterly survey and anytime feedback survey. You also have the option of addressing your SAS Marketplace Consultant’s manager.
When should I expect to be billed?
You will be billed in the first five calendar days of the month. Your monthly fees are calculated on the preceding month’s turnover on the Amazon Australia Store. Monthly fees are net of applicable taxes and are non-refundable. Fees are paid via your account balance. If the account balance is insufficient to cover the monthly bill, the remainder of the fee will be charged to the credit card on file.
