This story explores Koala's journey, strategies, and insights for other businesses considering Amazon as a sales channel.

Reaching new customers with Amazon

Koala ventured into Amazon to reach a broader Australian demographic. The Amazon store’s extensive reach provided an excellent opportunity to connect with diverse customer bases. With strong support from Amazon's account managers and resources from the Seller University Library, Koala set up their storefront effectively.

Koala emphasises 3 key areas to invest your time in to be successful in the Amazon store:

Amazon Ad Strategies: Invest time in refining Sponsored Ads, coupons, and promotional periods.

Continuous Learning: Grow your knowledge about Amazon's processes using third-party developers and Amazon Seller University to support your education and growing your business in the Amazon Store.

Ad Spend Management: Monitor your ad investments to ensure they yield the desired return on ad spend (ROAS).

"At the start, we had a third-party contractor to help us set up our storefront and manage the PPC (Pay-Per-Click) campaigns and marketing efforts. The Seller University library within Amazon was also a valuable resource in guiding us through the process."

Words for future businesses

Mark says “Invest time, grow your knowledge, and be prepared to continuously optimise your strategies. Amazon can be a highly rewarding place to be in but it requires dedication and a willingness to adapt."

"In Australia, we expect Amazon to grow significantly in the next five years, particularly in the smaller, lower-priced consumable goods category, we are still in the early stages of our Amazon journey in Australia, but we're confident in its potential."
