Step by step guide to selling electronics online

Step 1

Register as an Amazon Seller

To become a seller on the Amazon Australia store you will need to complete registration and verification. If you’re an Australian based business you will need:

Recent Bank Account or Credit Card Statement

Chargeable credit card

Phone number

Step 2

List your products

Next, you will need to display your products on Amazon.com.au for customers to purchase. To do this, you need to list your products from your Seller Central account by either:

Match to an existing product

If the electronic product is already available on Amazon.com.au or has a product detail page, you can find products and add offers by searching the Amazon catalogue. In Seller Central, go to Catalog > Add Product or scan the product barcode through the Seller App.

Create a New Product

If you are a brand owner or have a new product that is not currently listed on Amazon.com.au, you will need to create a new product detail page by providing key information such as product specifications and images. In Seller Central go to Catalog > Add Product > I’m adding a product not sold on Amazon.

Apply for a GTIN Exemption

If the product you are selling does not have a barcode, you will need to apply for a GTIN exemption. Learn more about GTIN exemptions.

Step 3

Deliver to your customers

Once your product receives an order, you will need to deliver it to the customer. There are many ways to do this:
